A great deal of editing often goes in to the final image of a professional newborn photographer. If you are wanting to learn how to edit newborn skin, including baby acne, jaundice, excessively dry skin and much more Maxine and Shellaine have included an editing section to their workshops, and include editing in your mentoring sessions.
While all babies are beautiful, with or without acne, we, as newborn photographers often hear “the acne just showed up in the last day or two” and “should we re-schedule the session?” from our newborn parent clients. We like to re-assure them that we can proceed with the session as planned, and then touch-up babe’s skin in post processing. Its very unpredictable when baby acne will appear, and when it will clear, and we as mothers know that while this is a part of infancy, looking back it is very temporary, and not how we remember our little ones.
Some of the other editing items we touch on in our newborn editing sections is fixing backgrounds that do not extend the frame, background fades and composites. If you would like to learn newborn photography editing please contact Maxine and Shellaine using their contact form.
