On April 15th 2015, two beautiful, identical little miracles entered this world.
Larissa was 33 weeks and 5 days pregnant with these gorgeous twin boys. She messaged me last Wednesday morning (as we routinely were keeping in touch like all birth clients and photographers do). But this morning was a bit different; Larissa said she was feeling some mother’s intuition that her boys were ready to make their debut. And how right she was…after her ultrasound that morning, they were scheduling her in for a C-section that afternoon as Baby B wasn’t happy and needed to get out. Thankful that my camera bag was packed and ready to go, I hauled my own munchkins off to their aunts, and hoped that I wouldn’t get a speeding ticket on my way to the hospital. Once there, I could tell which room Larissa and her sister Amber where in because I could hear their shared laughter from inside. Larissa’s hubby had just left Fort McMurray and was on his way to Edmonton, we all were anxious, hoping that he would make it in time for the birth! We had fun capturing some photos of the twins matching outfits, hand-made bracelets, hats and a special family ring that was of great importance on this significant day. We laughed, chatted and told stories while waiting for the nurses to let us know it was “go time”. It was obvious that all of the hospital staff absolutely loved Larissa as she kept them in giggles with her humorous and bubbly attitude. With a couple hours to spare, Craig made it to the hospital, and we all breathed a sign of relief. At around 7 pm, the nurses came and got us, saying it was time to go. While they prepped Larissa in the OR, Craig and I scrubbed in. When we heard the first cries of Baby A (Bronx), there were tears of joys, and Baby B (Dax) was close behind his brother. I was overwhelmed by the love shared by these new parents and their precious little boys, and feel so grateful that I was able to capture such a momentous day in their lives!
