Newborn Preparation and Photography Set-Up
As baby photographers, we know that it is important to discuss newborn photography set-up. Preparation is key for a successful newborn photoshoot. Our newborn photography preparation guide, we give tips that will ensure a successful session. Parents, give yourselves an extra hour to get ready the morning of your photo session. Spend time with baby, give them a bath, and try to keep them entertained and awake. Dress them in a comfortable onesie so when they arrive at the studio it is an easy transition. Pack an extra onesie, formula if needed and diaper bag essentials.
Planning Ahead
Prior to newborn photography sessions, clients complete a questionnaire to share inspiration on colour palette, set preference and most important moments captured. Taking this information into account, our newborn photography set-up and priorities will reflect these choices. View the newborn gallery to see a variety of our different sets. The flow for newborn photography sessions are the same, beginning in the baby room. This room is a warm and soothing atmosphere, the perfect space to lull newborns into sleepy, curly poses. The seamless beanbag set as well as prop photos will be taken in here. Once these images are complete the flow moves into family photos.
Family and Sibling Photos
Family photos are a client favourite during our newborn sessions. This is the perfect time to capture the special bond between baby, parents (and siblings too). Many of our clients book hair and makeup through Blush Artistry to take some of the stress off of them while getting ready. Our client wardrobe is always open and utilized by parents and siblings. Pets are an important part of families, we welcome them at our sessions as well and would incorporate their shots in during this time.
Newborn sessions are best held within the first couple weeks after baby is born. Reach out and say hello if you are interested in more information about booking your newborn session with us. We would love to hear from you and send you more information. Contact us for more information!
